So what’s my final verdict on the Olukai Moloa slipper?
#OLUKAI KEKA REVIEW HOW TO#
On top of my personal suggestions, Olukai also has some instructions for how to best take care of your slippers here. Insert a pair of shoe balls when you leave the house, or when you take them off at night before bed so that the odor is somewhat gone each morning when you wake up, hopefully. I think these are essential for any shoe you but, especially shoes that you will wear often. Personally, when I’m at home I don’t wear socks very much but in the name of keeping your slippers smelling better, I would definitely do this from time to time.
Not wear them every day–maybe get another pair of slippers to give your moloa slippers a rest. How bad that odor will vary from person to person. The merino wool insole helps, but the sheepskin interior will inevitably make your shoes stink. If you wear these slippers often, like any shoe, they are going to build up some sort of odor. One of the biggest complaints I read about the Olukai Moloa slipper (I think this is true for most slippers) is the smell. They look like a great fit for an active summer. Now, when you spend this kind of money on a slipper, it is important to know how to take care of them properly. Or buy them from Olukai: Olukai Kekoa sandalsĪlso, check out the Olukai Kai Komodel. Ember/Black, Black/Black, Dark Shadow/Scuba, White/Black, and Dark Java/Golden. And give them a smack to get the sand off before going inside or you’ll be sweeping grit. I’ll tell the dolphins and the next time you’re in the water, they will take your suit off. If you want something that will last, will wear great, spend the $ once. If you want a weekend throwaway, go ahead and buy, trash, and hurt the Earth. #OLUKAI KEKA REVIEW FULL#
I know so many of us have full courts in our homes.
Non marking rubber soles so you don’t mark up your indoor basketball courts. I like the Dark Shadow/Scuba better than the Ember/Black, but there are great color options. I wouldn’t jog in them, but running after a 3-year old or a dog is entirely possible. The soles have traction “pods” that mean you don’t slip on wet, slick surfaces. The details: when you look at the construction and the stitching you can’t help but think someone really cared when they made these. The strap doesnt’ seem like it will stretch out and even after I got them wet, there wasn’t that springy, slap-back you get when you get the strap wet on some sandals Durable: I can’t imagine how I could break these. 100% synthetic, vegan friendly, not made from recycled cats. The strap is built into the outside of the sandal instead of through the pad, so there’s more room, more comfortable. Doesn’t get slimy when you get the pad wet.
I didn’t have to convince myself that they’d “break in”
It’s like buying a convertible sports car for your feet. It might be more than you’d think for a sandal, but not for a summer shoe. This is another one of those gear options that’s worth the money. They’ll be in the #1 or #2 sandal slot all summer. I had the opportunity to try out a pair of Olukai Kekoa sandals in the past few weeks and have to admit, it’s nice to let the dogs breathe. And a cheap rubber-band or rough burlap crappy sandal is not the answer. You wear your shoes on the beach or if you lived in the 20s, you carried your shoes in a box when you went to the Jersey shore from Phili.
